Dr. Elena Chatzopoulou holds a PhD in Marketing from the University of Newcastle (United Kingdom) and a Master in Service Management (part-time) from AUEB. She has served as an Associate Professor of Marketing and Digital Marketing at Universities in the United Kingdom and France and also (visiting) Professor of Marketing at IESEG, School of Management. Furthermore, she serves as an expert panel member for the European Commission (e.g. AGRIP-SIMPLE-2021, AGRIP-MULTI-2021) and for the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia. Before joining academia, she had been working as a Marketing Manager. Her work was selected for publication in the prestigious book “Principles of Marketing” (8th edition) by world-renowned Marketing Professors Philip Kotler, Gary Armstrong, Lloyd C Harris & Hongwei He. During her career, she has received the “Teaching Excellence award” from the Academy of Marketing, and the “Best paper award” at the IFIP e-Business, e-Services and e-Society conference. She has also been awarded “outstanding reviewer” and “outstanding contribution to reviewing articles for publication” by the journal Computers in human behaviour. Elena is the single author of the book: Ethnic Hospitality Marketing – Authenticity and Quality Constructions in the Greek Food Industry, Routledge.
